Something fishy Something Easy - Something like burning fats with just two exercise !

A few months ago, I asked Alwyn Cosgrove, C.S.C.S. -- one of the world's top trainers -- to create a cutting-edge fat loss program for Men's Health. And, of course, he obliged. But a curious thing: One of the workouts in the plan featured just two exercises.
That's right: When asked to create a super-effective, calorie-torching routine, Cosgrove gave us a workout that had readers do only a kettlebell swing and a squat thrust. This confused some folks, who wondered, "How can you lose fat with just two exercises?"
Cosgrove's response: "Running is just one exercise, but no one questions that when it comes to burning fat."
(Another great way to lose fat: Avoid The Worst 20 Drinks in America.)
He makes a good point. And in fact, once you understand the philosophy behind Cosgrove's routine, you start to see why it works so well. But first, an explanation of the actual routine itself.
Here's how it works: You do 15 repetitions of the kettlebell swing (you can also use a dumbbell for this), followed immediately by 15 reps of the squat thrust. (See below for descriptions of both exercises.) Without resting, do 14 reps of the swing and then 14 reps of the squat thrust. Continue this pattern until you complete only one rep of each exercise. This is called a countdown workout.
Sure, that's just two exercises, but do the math: If you complete the entire routine -- from 15 down to 1 -- you'll do 120 repetitions of each exercise. That's 240 repetitions. And these aren't just any exercises: They're movements that challenge your entire body.
(Click here to see The Best New Exercises for Men.)
They're also done at a fast pace. On average, it'll only take you about three seconds per rep. So you'll do those 240 reps in just 12 minutes or so. That'll light your muscles on fire, and have you gasping for air (in a good way).
If you think that sounds too easy or too fast, I suggest you try it. You may find you can't even finish. But that's okay -- you can just start with a lower number, like 8, and work your way up as you improve your fitness. (In fact, I recommend this strategy.) What's more, if you want an even greater challenge, you can always take a breather and repeat the routine.

CUTE LOLA ^_^

98-year-old woman becomes first woman

ever to earn Judo's highest-degree black belt

Is earning a black belt on your life list? Then this

elderly woman in San Francisco just might be

 your ultimate hero.

Just two years before her 100th birthday,

Sensei Keiko Fukuda has  become the

first woman to achieve a tenth-degree black

belt—the highest rank in the martial art and

combat sport Judo. Fukuda is now one of only

four living people who've earned the

tenth-degree (or dan) black belt. To put the

accomplishment into better perspective,

throughout history, only sixteen people

have ever achieved this honor.

Fukuda began practicing Judo in 1935 and is

the sole surviving student of its founder, Kano

Jiguro. At her teacher's urging, she learned English

to help spread Judo internationally.

During a time when getting married, building

a family, and becoming a housewife was the

norm, Fukudo bucked tradition, opting out

of marriage to pursue the martial art.

"All I did was Judo...this was my marriage
,

" Fukudo reflected tearfully to the San Francisco

Chronicle. "This is when my life destiny was set.

I just never imagined how long this road would be."

She described the Jiguro’s school, known as the

Kodokan, as "old-fashioned and sexist about

belts and ranks." In fact, an edict that prevented

women from achieving any higher than a

fifth-degree black belt kept Fukuda at that level

for thirty years. She was finally elevated to

sixth dan in 1972 when a woman's division was

created.

Fukodo said she approached Judo and her life

with the intent to "be gentle, kind and beautiful,

yet firm and strong, both mentally and physically."

Fukuda says

this kind of beauty is decidedly not external.

"A compassionate soul is inner beauty,"

she explained to the paper. "I believe this is true

beauty...All my life this has been my dream."

Dream realized, the 98-year-old Sensei Keiko

Fukuda continues to teach Judo three times a

week at a woman's dojo.

OH what the hell .

OC Fisher, a reservoir in West Texas (Texas Parks and Wildlife Inland Fisheries--San Angelo)

End Times? Texas Lake Turns Blood-Red

A Texas lake that turned blood-red this summer may not be a sign of the End Times, but probably is the end of a popular fishing and recreation spot.
drought has left the OC Fisher Reservoir in San Angelo State Park in West Texas almost entirely dry. The water that is left is stagnant, full of dead fish — and a deep, opaque red.
The color has some apocalypse believers suggesting that OC Fisher is an early sign of the end of the world, but Texas Parks and Wildlife Inland Fisheries officials say the bloody look is the result ofChromatiaceae bacteria, which thrive in oxygen-deprived water.
"It's just heartbreaking," said Charles Cruz, a fish and wildlife technician with Texas Parks and Wildlife in San Angelo, Tex.
Blood red reservoir
Texas is experiencing major drought this summer, with 75 percent of the state's area in an "exceptional" drought, the highest level, according to the National Drought Mitigation Center (NDMC). The state had hoped for some relief from Tropical Storm Don last week, but the system fizzled and brought only an inch or two of rain to areas near the coast.
The drought has taken its toll on a number of reservoirs in West Texas, Cruz told LiveScience. OC Fisher has never been completely full, Cruz said, but it was stocked with catfish, bass, sunfish and other popular targets for fishermen.
"We surveyed the lake, I believe it was last year, and we had a pretty good fish population out there," Cruz said. "It was pretty sickening going out there, watching lake levels just drop and drop and drop and seeing these nice trophy-sized bass just floating dead."
End times predictions
As of last week, all that remained of the lake was a small pond a few feet deep, Cruz said. There were thousands of dead fish, he said, but no sign of life.
Pictures of this blood-red pool circulated online in fishing forums and caught the notice of Indiana preacher Paul Begley, who said in a YouTube video that the lake might be evidence of the apocalypse as predicted by the Biblical book of Revelation. [End of the World? Top Doomsday Fears]
"The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it turned into blood like that of a dead person, and every living thing in the sea died," the passage Begley cited reads. "The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood."
Begley may not have any more luck at predicting the end of the world than did Harold Camping, the radio preacher who set the date for May 21, 2011. But for as long as the drought persists, the OC Fisher reservoir is a reservoir no longer.
"I don't know what's left in there now. We haven't been back," Cruz said. "But I would guess it's probably pretty much gone already."

Gym-FREE ways to BURN 100calories ^^

Some days you’re just not up to a heart-thumping Spin class. Or maybe working out just isn’t your idea of a good time. Well, here’s some great news: You can melt away fat while having fun and without stepping foot in the gym. Try these eight no-sweat tricks for burning 100 calories while doing stuff you love (think gardening, hosting a party and playing with your pooch). Slimming has never been so enjoyable—or so simple!

Can you dig it?
Sow pumpkin seeds in July and you’ll reap jack-o’-lanterns by Halloween. Spend 21 minutes tilling soil and planting in your backyard to meet your triple-digit goal. Think of growing as a way of shrinking!

Have a doggone good time
Leash your canine companion and head to the dog park at a relaxed pace to burn 30 calories in 10 minutes. At the park, use the leash to jump rope for four minutes to zap 40 calories. (If your leash is too short, use a jump rope as a leash.) Stroll back home to erase another 30 calories.

Create a night to remember
Check event listings for an outdoor screening of an oldie but goody movie. Prepare and pack a picnic (20 calories in 10 minutes), lug it from the car to the grass (18 calories in 5 minutes), and toss a Frisbee for 20 minutes as you wait for the opening credits (64 calories). Then kick back, relax, and enjoy the show. Those 100 calories? Hasta la vista, baby.

Kick it old-school
Time to relive those carefree childhood summers. Bring a kite to the park or beach, wait for a big gust of wind, and then fly high! You’ll blow away 100 calories in 12 minutes. Or pull on a pair of roller skates and take off (with a helmet, naturally), doing your best figure eights and spins whenever possible (100 nixed in 14 minutes).

Go coupon-crazy
Surf Groupon.com to find great deals on adventures near you. Redeem a coupon for rock climbing, one of the site’s frequently discounted activities, and you’ll burn 100 calories in 9 minutes while scaling a wall. Or nab an amusement park day pass, another site favorite, and you’ll lose 100 in 31 minutes as you meander from ride to ride.

Suit up
Have a diving contest! Spend 30 minutes competing off the diving board at your local pool—cannonballs count (95 calories). Cap it off with 5 minutes in the whirlpool (5 calories). Everyone wins!

Lean and limber
Stretching feels good, protects you from injury and torches 2.7 calories a minute, more than twice as many as sitting. Spend 6 minutes daily working on your flexibility to zap more than 100 calories in a week.

Host a dinner party
Turn off Top Chef and become one yourself. Between chopping and table setting, you’ll burn 100 calories in 38 minutes. SELF’s Chicken and Cheese Sliders recipe takes about that long to whip up. And it’s a crowd-pleaser! Serves 4

Vegetable oil cooking spray
1 green bell pepper, chopped
½ medium red onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 bone-in skinless chicken breast (about 6 oz)
½ cup store-bought barbecue sauce
¼ can (7 oz) chipotle peppers in adobo
8 small whole-wheat buns (such as Pepperidge Farm Wheat Sliders)
½ cup grated aged cheddar
8 cherry tomatoes, sliced
2 cups sprouts (such as arugula or broccoli)

Coat a medium saucepan with cooking spray. Cook bell pepper, onion and garlic in pan over medium heat, stirring, three minutes. Add chicken, barbecue sauce, chipotles and ¼ cup water; cover and simmer until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165º, 25 to 30 minutes. Remove chicken from sauce; place on a plate to cool for five minutes. Use a fork to pull meat off bone and shred; return meat to pan and toss to coat with sauce. Heat oven to 400º. Open buns and set on a baking sheet covered with foil. Distribute chicken evenly among bottom half of each bun (about 2 tbsp per bun); top each with 2 tbsp cheese. Bake until cheese melts and bubbles, four to five minutes. Top with tomatoes, sprouts and bun cap; serve immediately.

SOMETHING THAT BOYS LOVE :D

Men and women don't always see eye to eye — especially when it comes to what makes a lady look amazing. While you might find a blunt and structured 'do incredibly chic, there's a really good chance he just finds it weird. In an effort to demystify what guys find sexy, we polled a handful to find out which hairstyles men really do prefer.

Retro Bangs
"I'll always like that sort of late '60s long bangs with longer hair look. Think Mary Jane, Spider-Man's girlfriend. I've noticed that Rose Byrne, who seems to be in every other movie right now, has been wearing her hair this way, and it has certainly captured my attention.

Vivid Hues
"Good hair will get my attention from across the room. I really like warm, vivid colors. The style itself, and whether it looks good, will change with the times and who is wearing it, but a great color will always get me."
Tim, 35, Software Developer

The Ponytail
"I love a simple ponytail and no makeup. I guess that's the sporty look."

Long and Simple
"Keep it simple! I like women with longer hair. It can be straight — slight curls are okay — but in general girls should keep it long and in good condition. I like it long because it looks more feminine."
Daniel, 31, Financial Consultant

Messy Bob
"My personal fave is a messy bob. I cut my girlfriend's curly red locks this way; it makes the back of her fair neck look so appealing. I've cut most of my past girlfriends hair. They always seemed to like it. I'm a serial bob-ist."
Reid, 30, Illustrator

Short and Punky
"I was always a fan of short, punky and messy black hair look."

Long and Wild
"I love long, messy hair. Mary-Kate Olsen and her messy bohemian look is hot. But I can also get down with a really structured short haircut. The trick is to match your hair with your face shape, and more importantly your persona. This may come as a surprise to a lot of women, but guys are much more perceptive when it comes to visual cues than we're given credit for. Though many of us may not be able to verbalize, we do notice."

Classic Coifs
"I like the more classic hairstyles, like Christina Hendricks on Mad Men. Of course, that might also be my preference for redheads."

Soft Layers
"I like long layers on a girl; it's more interesting than just straight hair. Blunt haircuts make girls look too harsh, and they're not contemporary — if her hair is too structured, it can be distracting and intimidating. Loose, wavy hair makes a girl look relaxed and approachable."

Pixie Cut

"I love when a woman feels confident about her face to wear short hair. It's strong and powerful."
Martin, 34, Artist and Entrepreneur
